53 6500?
I maybe buying a truck from my uncle. It is a 53, I believe it is a 6500. My questions are will the frame on it be the same as the half ton version? Is the cab the same and front sheetmetal the same a a half ton? I'm looking for a project for my son and think this may be the way to go.
Thanks

Re: 53 6500?
If it is a 6500 series it will be a 2 ton truck. The cab and doors are probably the same but everything else is way bigger.

Re: 53 6500?
Look at the link in my signature, and go to the 53 year section. It has all the detailed frame info. 6500 frame is larger than smaller sizes. Like buggy said cab, doors and interior are the same, front clip is different. Ok if you want a big truck look but not much help for parts for at 1/2-3/4 ton.
