Fan Removal?
Starting to remove all external parts to a 2002 5.3L to prep for paint. I'm finished except for removing the fan clutch from the waterpump. How do you remove it?
Thank you, Kevin C

Re: Fan Removal?
Takes a special tool. It's a fan clutch wrench.
Be sure and get the tool that holds the pulley that the belt rides on also. There are two small holes in the front of it that the tool fits in to hold it. I borrowed one from Auto Zone to get mine off. Kim |

Re: Fan Removal?
I used an oil filter wrench with a rubber strap and a larg crescent. Hold the filter wrench tight on the water pump pulley and hit the crescent with a rubber mallet.

Re: Fan Removal?
If you get one that just won't budge, an air chisle works great!
