Saddle Tanks

I was given these from a guy who cut them off a 65' he is turning into a prostreet truck. I was not present when they were removed and have no idea how to mount them to my 63'. Are they stock or aftermarket and I am hoping somone knows where I can get a mounting kit or do I have to fab something?

I have these tanks on my 66 C20, The are mounted by hangers from the frame and bed rails to basically flat stock under the tanks..

My dad had them installed back in the 70's when he put the camper on it. I have access doors on both sides of the bed.

If you would like I can take some pictures of the setup later today.


I recently had to replace some of the broken hardware which basically looks like a square U bolt cut to look more like a J so it can hang off the frame.

The pics are a little rough (cell phone and low light), the two outside bolts are attached to the bed rails, the back inside bolt (on the narrow part of the tank) is also attached to a bed rail, and the front inside bolt (on the wide part of the tank) is a Square U bolt I purchased from a trailer shop, we cut off about 60-70% off on side to make it more like a "J" shape and hung it off the frame at that spot.

Otherwise just flat stock bar probably 3/8" thick sandwiching the tank to the bed rails.

Oh yeah important to note the Square U bolt is big enough to go fully around the frame so there's no chance of it slipping off the frame, just make sure you get a U bolt as wide as the frame to make sure the side you cut is fully engaged on the opposite side of the tank

What is that to the left of the filter? Is that a back flow preventer? Anyway, thank you for these pics. I now have a good idea how to procede. I am going to wait until I redo my truck bed because that seems like the easiest time to do so.

I got lazy and didn't replace the line their and instead just clamped on some bigger hose over a crack. You could put a one way check valve though I would assume

and yes I don't see a way to attach those bolts through the bed rails without the wood off or putting a hole through your wood
