Paint color for cab

I know it has been asked a million times before but I was looking for a color to paint the interior of my 66 closest to factory. I was hoping to use some spray cans or brush it on but dont know what color i need. I have heard that people have gotten some at westlake but again, not sure of what color. Any help would be great. thanks

Re: Paint color for cab

The original fawn color was metalic, and metalic paint won't look right if it's brushed on. Duplicolor makes (or atleast at one point made) a very small touch up size can that matches pretty well, but they're so small that you'd need probably 20 cans. If you wind up and decide to have paint mixed to match, 2003 Nissan Sunlit Sand, code "EVO" is a good match. A paint shop may be able to pull up the Duplicolor you'll need based on the Nissan code. The dash panel on '66 trucks were a dark brown with a texturing agent- not sure how to replicate that though.

Here's a '65 that I repainted.

Re: Paint color for cab

I remember seeing a great thread made by SFTOrange. he did the legwork for color and this is the "recipe" for the factory interior color:

Medium Fawn: 60% gloss
DuPont: #9171-L
Ditzler: #DL-22571
Rinshed-Mason: #65B84

Dark Fawn: 0% Gloss
DuPont: #9202-L
Ditzler: #DIA 22568

Here is the link to his thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=437222

I hope this info helps you out.

Re: Paint color for cab

My truck also has that gray color. What color is it? I am planning on just painting it the body color or something close to fawn. I have found that the rustoleum smoke gray is real close. What should I do.

Re: Paint color for cab

That grey actually reminds me of the service trucks my father drove when he was a plumber.
