little holes in door
i removed the carpet from my door and now i have about 10 holes to fill up. what is the best way to do this without being a metal smith?
I dont want to buy no carpet pieces from lmc, so im trying to do this on the cheap! Thanks for any and all ideas.

Re: little holes in door
Easiest way that I can see is put the screws (or new ones) back in the holes. Personally I don't mind the pseudo-industrial look. A blank screw hole bugs me more.
If I didn't want to weld them up and repaint, that's the way I'd go, but then again, nothing I drive would be mistaken for a show truck.

Re: little holes in door
This would be the easiest way if you have access to a mig welder and grinders. Neat nail trick that works great for small holes. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=516695
I've used a panel bond material to fill small holes by dimpling the hole, grind to get metal adhesion , apply tape to the backside of hole (painters tape), fill the hole with panel bond, let dry , sand , apply skim of filler coat, prime, seal and paint. But if I had access I would weld it.

Re: little holes in door
I've done the bondo route. It took about a year before it became totally obvious. Weld them up.

Re: little holes in door
You could always pop some rivets in the holes. It'll give you an industrial look like donut said. Or using thin ply wood build a "map" pocket for the door. And the cover it with carpet, or any kind of fabric you like.
