Re: Brake Drums Stuck on
is it moving at all? if it is the pads are stuck in the grove and you can unstick them with a small screwdriver from the back of the drum. just take your time. if the drum spins but is not moving otherwise its rusted to the axle flange. wd40 to the hub and wack it (not to hard) with a hammer to try and break up the rust

Re: Brake Drums Stuck on
Go to the backside of the backing plate and remove the bolts for the wheel cylinder and the brake line as well. then take a grinder to the heads of all the brake shoe retainer pins (may have to use a dremel tool) and grind away carefully until your thru all of them. Get (rent) a brake drum puller and put it to use.
If that don't work......use a hot wrench and torch that sucker off.

Re: Brake Drums Stuck on
Is the rear a semi-float or full float? If semi, could you pop the diff cover off and remove the c-clips and then pull the axle shafts out?? I'll be trying the same thing on the SF I just bought where the drums won't come off either.

Re: Brake Drums Stuck on
you sure the drum slides off? I got a feeling you gots to pull the axle shaft and bearings and take off the whole hub assembly. thats how my 88 works.
