Need paint number to match this truck color.
I am going with the factory two tone white and blue and I need a paint number to give to my paint guy. I think that this is a factory color that came on the truck my truck has been painted in the past and it shows in spots this color blue but I want it back to original paint colors anybody know what this color name is that is on this long bed truck and a number? I am going to go back with this color scheme on the GMC stepside. Hope the picture with the color that I need is not to small to see good? Thanks for any information. Robert

Re: Need paint number to match this truck color.
Looks to me like the 507 Light Blue or 537 two tone code for '69.
It is a PPG #12846 that any paint shop should be able to supply.

Re: Need paint number to match this truck color.
It looks like '69 Light Blue (507) to me,too. That's the solid (all one color) code. GM used a different paint code for the same color when used for 2-tone,but it's the same color. I can't tell from that picture what year the truck is. So,just to be sure it's not the monitor (or my eyes) playing tricks,I'll show another possibility. 71/72 had Medium Blue (501).
The chips aren't always the best way to tell, either. So,here's a Light blue truck then a Medium Blue:

Hey Robert, saw this one on Craig's, not sure if it's stock or not but it sure is pretty.

Re: Need paint number to match this truck color.
Thanks guys for the pictures and paint codes the picture I posted of the longbed could not even be a factory color I think that I like the 71 med. blue from the picture thanks for posting it, on a two tone blue and white how would the inside cab be painted? I would think just as the outside with the same blue and white separation line? thanks Robert

Re: Need paint number to match this truck color.
Well here is another picture of the 501 color two toned in '70, in '71 it became a van only color. Almost all the two tone trucks have the cab interior painted the base color ('67-68 trucks went with a different color inside to match the trim). The white in this case would not be inside the cab if I understand your question correctly. Now the 501(PPG 2163) color shown is a light metalic. The '69 507(in my first post) is not, nor is the very popular '71 510(PPG 2188) Medium or Hawaiian Blue in the lower two pictures if that makes a difference.
