Door handle Install

So I had someone paint my truck. They ripped it all apart and didn't put anything back. needless to say its hard to put something back together when you never saw it before!!!

I can seem to find out how to put the door handles back in the door and hook up the latches so it functions... Im drawing a blank!!!

Any info would be helpful

Re: Door handle Install

lets see if i remember correctly you snake the the rod threw and then press the door handle to get the mechanism to elongate enough to finish pushing threw two screws hold it in place. then once its in the rod will connect to a hole on the main latch its held in place with a clip......this is off memory

If all else fails i sometimes look at LMC the have a pretty good exploded look of things

Re: Door handle Install

Do not forget/omit to install the clip. Tie a piece of fishing line or thread to the clip before you attempt to install it for when it slips from your contorted fingers while your trying to get the clip in the right position and it somehow manages to fall into the lock mechanism out of sight....

Alex.
