Bucket seats Question?

On Craigslist you see millions of bucket seats for sale.

There are 2nd row and 3rd row seats listed pretty often.

My question is.....can these 2nd and 3rd row seats be used as driver seats in a 60's truck? Any reason they wont modify for that purpose?

I have my eye on a 2nd row set that has the seat belt built into the seats and they are cheap. Out of a 2005 Yukon.

Re: Bucket seats Question?

Something to think about is whether they hinge forward. If it doesn't, it is very tough to get access to behind the seat in your truck. The suburbans and 4 door front seats only go fold forward so far also. The extended cab trucks do fold forward all the way, as do the straight cab trucks, giving nice access to storage, or whatever you keep behind the seat.

I have not found out if a set of 2nd row seats will work as front seats.

I was told by one mechanic that they wont because they are fixed in place and cant be adjusted.

I guess if I knew where the seat would end up I could always just bolt them in place.

Re: Bucket seats Question?

Why not get a set of seat tracks from another donor vehicle and modify them to work with the second row seats.

Because I am mechanically challenged

I don't have all the tools, welders, drills and know how as a lot of you guys do. I just know what I would like to have.
