Need visor mounting brackets
I need mounting brackets for my exterior visor. I have searched and I can't find anyplace to just buy the mounting hardware. Is there?
Thanks |

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
I couldn't find any when I was putting on mine (49-52 Cadillac). Ended up making some that are super strong and mounted solid because I knew I'd be driving it at high speed. 80-90mph?...ok, once up to 110 but don't tell anyone

Here you go.
Behind the chrome castle nut is a rubber bumper to keep the metal off the paint. |

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
It's hooked to your drip rail? My truck doesn't have any. Prev. owner took them off. Just don't know how I'm going to attach mine and get it to stay even at 45 mph

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
From the looks of your visor it appears that you have the GM correct visor for 47-53 AD pickups, on the mounting brackets there was a guy out of the la area that was making them ( i don't have the info) if you want the correct ones if not and want something that works look up Dietrich visor ends on ebay the run about $40 .

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
Unfortunately you may have to screw the ends into the roof if you have nothing else to attach it to!
Here's a link to a site in Texas that sells visors, maybe they can help? http://www.bigjims.net/ |

That's what I was thinking. I did contact them a while back and never got a response. :-(

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
These will work and you don't have to drill any holes they actually sandwich together.

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
If you don't have drip rails the visor won't work , the only visor that will work is a ball cap style visor that actually screws to the body.

Re: Need visor mounting brackets
This is the ball cap style visor I was talking about its actually for a 54-55 GMC/Chevy trucks it's expensive so you'd be better off using a Fulton since they also don't mount to the drip rail they actually are screwed into the inside upper door edge.
