Question Transfer Case ID

How do I tell what transfer case my truck has in it? Thanks.

there is a tag on the back side where you put the fluid in. if its gone. 81-87 had 208 they had a alum. case then 73 -80 had 203 and 205. 203 are full time so your drive line never stops moving they were in i think 73 - 75 i think, then they went to they 205 which is what most guys like.

Okay so my truck probably has a 208 then because it is a 85.

look at it. if it look like Aluminum its a 208 plus theres a tag on the back side where u put in the Fluid, a 208 uses ATF no gear lube. if u put gear lube in u will burn up the pump in side.

Couldn't tell by looking it is covered in dirt and grime, I'll have to find the tag.

oh ya what is the way the gears are lind up, 2H 4h N 4l what order, and when u put it in N or 4L do you push over to the right or not
