Clutch fan to electric
Silly question here. I want to put some electric fans on my swap that is a 5.3 out of a 2004 Suburban. If I just take off the clutch fan do I need to find a big nut to put on or will the pulley stay in place due to its pressed fit?

Just unscrew the fan and leave it as is.

What he said^.....but will it show you the bang for the buck? Dont get me wrong, I am running dual electrics on my gen 1 383. The clutch fan roars like hell on my 02 siverado(when it needs to), but freewheels most of the time
 Most of the guys on the old school board, tend to lean to the good old clutch fan? You might pick up a few ponies, going elect....but on the street, its probably a moot point.Figure the cost for the setup, vs the savings? The argument is that that old mechanical fan wont let you down? I would like to step back, & hear what the gen 3 croud has to say, as I am still learning about the gen 3 crazyL

If you are going to use the PCM to control the fans make sure you have it tuned in.

Thanks everyone. I thought that was the case I just wanted to be sure so the pulley didn't fall off when I was far from home. The PCM is already programmed for fans and I think the electric setup looks cleaner than the clutch, plus I got a dual electric setup for $15 at a swapmeet. Much easier than building a shroud and I'm not at all looking for performance gains from this build.
