SM465 Help :dum:
Hello, just noticed today that it feels like my first gear is not "catching?", it pulls great in Low and once i get it up into second and third it is fine, i dont know what it could be, any help would be appreciated. its a 1980 Chevy K10, 350 v8 6 lug.
Thanks, Justin B. Thompson |

Re: SM465 Help :dum:
I am not sure what you mean by first gear. SM465 has 4 speeds - L (granny), 1, 2, 3. The first gear (L) I have been told is a square cut gear with no synchros, so it is often hard to engage. I would check your clutch adjustment. I need about 1" of the adjustment screw exposed to make my SM45 shift relatively smoothly. Try letting the clutch out in neutral, then try to put it into gear.

Re: SM465 Help :dum:
It should go back just fine if you drop the T-case
