The one piece full of distortion windshield and the Led head lights both turn me off. Sandpaper would take care of the silly paint job.

You know, I have to agree with you. I have seen too many negative posts from mr48chevy. You dont have to like it!...and if you dont, dont say anything! I'm sure you hate it when passers by make negative statements about your truck, so what makes any you different/ No matter WHO built the truck or what style it is someone will like it and that is evident by price and # of bidders.

If you have ever looked though a few of those windshields and talked to the owners you would get my drift on that. Most of the guys who have them aren't too happy with them but they have too much money tied up in them to change them. A great idea that doesn't work as well in practice as theory.

As for the fake patina paint. I will never understand the idea that spending good money to make your truck look old and ragged is cool. I've spent 39 years trying to figure out how to have my truck look as nice as it can with what I have to work with money and skill wise and just don't get the have it look like it was drug out of a field thing. Maybe i should have just left it with the cracked windows, ragged out seat and brushed on paint that I bought it with for 75.00 in 1973 and guys would go nuts over it now. That would have saved me a few hundred hours of work over the years.

The 54's and first series 55's all had one piece windshields. A friend has one and guess what?............... No distortion. No problem. My remark btw,was based on your history of crapping on other people posts.

I don't get when people say "I don't understand" about someones truck or likes. You don't seem to understand its not for you to understand. Its not your truck so you don't have to understand. They did not advertised for people that don't understand it they did it for the people that like that style of build.

I have nothing bad to say about anybody's ride unless it is unsafe, that is the only concern I have about someones ride because others share the road with them.

No one is wrong about what they like. If we all like the same things that would be boring because every car or truck would look the same. No one was to like my build but me, because I'm building it for me.

Couldn't agree more. For me, the test is if I can see a low rider or a tuner car, something I can't imagine myself owneing and still admire it? I do regularly.

To me, "car guys" like vehicles. You like them if they're brass era buggies, whatever. I can see the attaction in almost anything if it's been well done - in the OWNER'S point of view.

I have some with all three windshields and yes the one piece v-butt 47-53 suck. The 54-55 are factory one piece and have a different curve to them than the one piece glass that can be put into the 47-53s.
I personally never really cared for that pick up from the beginning. With this truck it was completely obvious that they didn't do their research on exactly what they had, cab and door's aren't 49, it had tube shocks on the stock suspension, etc. Just my opinion.

That is a 47/53 with one of those aftermarket windshields in it that is heated and bent in the middle. There may be better quality ones out there but the ones I've seen have a lot of distortion in the middle. They are nothing like the 54/first series 55 windshields. I learned to drive in a 54 5 window and have a soft spot for those but have never owned one always having the split window trucks. Take a look at the middle of the windshield on this truck. The truck was spotless by the way and it isn't film on the windshield.

i like the truck to a point especially the engine, look on the bright side it could be in pile of scrap cars i just passed today not on the road preserving our hobby.

I hafta agree it makes me mad when somebody calls my truck a rat rod! I can't wait untill it is done and shiny new paint on it.

I agree about the windshield. the taillights and the paint are Ok but not my thing.

Thanks but it's a 50 footer! There's some rust popping thru and the SS paint sucks,some bondo is cracking the PO put in,plus the interior is MIA you can see the ground while your driving. Nothing that can't be fixed though. I'm taking care of Safety first and making it a driver.

In one of the pics you can see the for sale info in his driver side cab window. 30K or best offer. So I bet they are expecting close to mid 20's.

I TRY never to speak negative of another man's ride. To each their own. I can appreciate cars/trucks that's I'd NEVER want to own just for the vision, skills it took to carry them off. This truck isn't my cup of tea for a lot of reasons - not to mention the price - but someone will be very happy with it...I guess

I agree. I've been into Porsches since I was a wee little boy, and have owned quite a few old(er) Porsches. The one I can't shake is the ugly duckling 914. They drive so well I can't be without one for very long. Because of their mixed heritage and Not A Real Porsche status among many, a lot of cars have been heavily modified and converted into vehicles that bear little or no resemblance to the original 914. While not my cup of tea, on some of those I really respect the creativity and engineering involved in the conversions.

i'd be leery of any tv build vehicle
they just seem to cut corners and rush installs
usually it only needs to look good for one episode

So does a heck of a lot of shops and home builders. The best you can do is view the vehicle before hand and give it a detailed inspection and even then you really never know a vehicle until you own it. Anyone who has bought cars through the years have had that "WTF were they thinking" moment very often.lol

I've seen cars and trucks from so called professional shops that had very questionable work done. I know SAD, very sad but true. A friend of mine pulled his car out of a shop because when he visited them he did not like the quality of the work so he told them in these words " Man give me my car back because I can f up things myself".lol

I bought a truck that was redone about 10 years ago by a professional restoration shop. This last weekend I was replacing the weather strip along the top of the firewall and I could not believe it...orange paint from the previous paint job. They never took off the weatherstrip. It probably took them longer to mask it off than take it off...and so much better a paint job to remove it.
