York mounting
im wondering how people mount the york compressor to 305/350 that has passenger mount alternator? i seen a few cool write ups, but the brackets are made to fit the passenger side where my alt goes. the driver side looks very tricky because of my power steering brackets. anyone have this setup?

what size plate is that? looks beefy!
i dont think mine can mount like that...my power steering brackets are different. ill try and post a pic here in a minute. i wonder if they can be mounted directly on the top of the frame..? if i mount mine up in that spot, it will sit too high for my liking...

it's 1/4 steel. I get a little flex, thats why I added the angle iron on the back, the gussets on the front. Probably should go to 5/16 steel. If you mean attached to the frame, yeah you can, but as your engine flexes or moves a little, the belt will tighten/loosen. Have to have some slack to allow it to move or something will break eventually. I did it on my impala, it flexed the frame/bracket, and its noisy when the pump kicks in

dang, your exactly right. i totally did not think about the motor moving back and forth during use. i thought i had it solved..lol, that would have worked perfectly.
so i have to find a way to mount this thing to the motor..but try to keep it low...

heres an ugly pic of what my brackets look like..
you can kind of see the 2 holes on the block that are left for me to make a bracket bolt to...but i would have to make it sort of bend over the ps pump bracket....

heres one way, post #10 shows spacing out the pump, if you can move yours, and the york can mount sideways versus vertical, if that helps

Thats interesting..do you have pics of the bracket bolted to the motor?
