Finally! Something Finished...
welding that is. I put the primer back on the firewall. Now for some filler and lots of sanding.

That will look sweet once you get it sanded and painted.
How long did that take you?

I'm not sure exactly how many hours I have in it, but filling the channel behind the firewall "lip" was a very time consuming task! I'm sure I will think welding and grinding was easy about half way through the sanding!!
I would guess 15 hours or so.....

Looks nice. I just fixed the rust in my cowl and I have 7 hours in that. I would hate to do all of that metal work.

Are you still running a heater? If so, is it electric? I would like to get rid of the ugly box on the firewall. Plus I am tired of the core breaking.

cruzn72 - I will be running a Vintage Air system with heat. It all fits in the cab and uses factory vent holes and controls.
Frenchblue72 - I took a piece of 8' long 18ga sheet metal and cut it down to .5" and trimmed and cussed and spit until it fit. I then began tacking it on on end and shaping it until I was all the way across. It actually wasn't that bad to get started. It just took awhile to finish because I didn't want to warp it. This pic shows the initial tack welds....
