How are much are the ebay payments? Reserve is probably very high. It's like a brand new truck.

The glove box sticker indicates a sliding rear window.

The description lists sliding rear window also. Must have been replaced during restoration?

Re: restored 1980 Indy Hauler

When is it legal to tamper with an odometer and do you have to take any special steps or fill out any forms before you do it?
Is it federal or would your home state DMV handle this?
This truck shows a little over 2,000 miles and the consigner as much as admited it was rolled back.
I'm just curious..

dosn't say rolled back
could be 102,000,the older ones have no 6th digit
we get that all the time up here,km roll faster then miles

In Texas the title will read exempt for mileage no matter what you put on title transfer application or bill of sale once its over 10 years old...which means dealers/sellers cannot get in trouble for rolling back or restoring it with a new speedo that has zero miles.

That truck is sweet. It would go perfectly with the '80 T/A pace car I need.

Not a fan of the front spoiler or the big mirrors, but otherwise a very nice truck.

The front grille looks a bit goofy doesn't it? And what is up with that 2:76 rear axle? That thing will get good MPGs but its gonna top out at 55 on the highway. GOOD looking truck no the less

You've got it backwards. With a 2.76 gear it will fly on the freeway, be a slow dog on the streets.

Re: restored 1980 Indy Hauler

In addition to the sliding rear window, the bumpers are supposed to be chrome as well.

Sweet truck though.

alot of times an option on list may be negated with the special package. According to this pic the bumpers are correct for indy hauler package.

Re: restored 1980 Indy Hauler

That is a very nice truck. Steering wheel, outside mirrors and probably the seat are incorrect compared to what the truck originally came with.

I've only seen a few of these and I've looked pretty hard. I'd say they are more rare than a Gentleman Jim or Beau James. Of the few I have seen documented, I think this is the first Sierra Classic. Mine was a High Sierra and I've seen that a few more times.

Incorrect or not, I would still roll in that. Yeah, it has 80's written all over it, but its got a cool vibe that I would love to own.
