Rv cam

I have 1991 suburban 350 w/headers and dual exhaust, 2wd. What improvments will I get if I install a mild rv cam? How difficult is the installation?

Re: Rv cam

You should see great improvements in off-idle throttle response and torque. But in addition to pulling the intake, distributor, front accessories, timing cover and chain for the swap, you'll have to get the ECM tuned for the new cam. It's not too big a job.

Re: Rv cam

Would it be ideal to rebuild the whole engine, since its an original with about 280,000 miles on it but it still runs strong! What would you suggest?

Re: Rv cam

I got my engine here: http://cmengines.com/ It looks like a fully rebuilt long block from them will run $1296 for your truck. Their "high torque" rebuild for your truck is part number 350L130T. It comes with a warranty, too.
