250 in a 56
guys is everyone using the tubular v8 cross members to mount the later 6 into the TF trucks or is their another setup folks are using. last time i was doing this nobody was making these commercially,cars yes but not trucks. any pictures would be great thanks!

Hi, my 59 had a 230 in it when I got it. I don't know how the engine was supported by this little piece of metal, but apparently it worked. I was really close keeping and making it work, with a better engine support mind you, but I'm happy with the direction I've chosen; ). I know I didn't answer your question, but felt compelled to show what I had. I gave the engine away. Why would you want a 230?

YIKES! That looks like old generator bracket made into makeshift motor mount. The 250 is available and thought maybe someone had decided to produce a commercial set of mounts but making some is really no issue just checking options. Was somebody actually driving the truck with that mount?

I don't know how long someone may have driven it that way. Looks like it had been in the truck for a long time. I did get it running and drove it up and down my street. It ran pretty good! I did search for a long time for engine supports, but I really wanted a sbc. Besides, I couldn't see the 250 with AC,PS, and an alternator hanging off of it. Overall, I think the 250 could be an alternative and one could be satisfied with it. ; )

I guess having mounts on the bellhousing makes that mount work! LOL! anymore pic's of mount from different angle? was pass side the same?

That was the only support in the front of the engine! There was nothing on the passenger side. Just goes to say, the 230/250 just wasn't designed for this truck. But one can install whatever one wants these days. I'd like the engine out of my Mazda cx9 in my truck! Lol

those side mounts on the bellhousing hold the motor and handle the torque.
the front mount only needs to balance the motor under the hood and... obviously from denee's pics, anything will do that

You're welcome 55dude! I went through my pics and found these.
I don't know where I found the engine with the correct engine supports or what kind of truck it is in. Looks like a 50s model truck. May be even from a member on this site! The last pic I was just taking measurements dreaming of how I would install the engine correctly in my truck. seems like the factory steering and emergency brake assembly was in the way. Just adding what I know, just in case you guys decide to go this way. ; )

I knew my original e-brake was coming out, boy, what a setup! It was all rusted in, nothing would budge! I'm putting a foot pedal (like Orrieg). I have it, just haven't lost enough sleep thinking how to install it! Right before I fall asleep (which is NEVER), is when I figure out how to do things!
