NOS Chrome sport bumper
Ok so I got my hands on a NOS chrome sport bumper that was never mounted and still has the GM sticker on it. The bumper is straigt but has some minor pitting on it that I discovered later. The way it sits I cant put it on my truck so I have a few questions...
1 Is it worth having rechromed? 2 How much does it cost to have a bumper rechromed? 3 If I dont rechrome it what is it worth? 4 Do I just keep the repop bumper on my truck and store it away? I will post some pics of it later tonight. Any help, thoughts or comments are appreciated!

I prefer to rechrome original OEM bumpers. All the repop bumpers I've ever come in contact with I haven't been happy with, cheap chrome that scratches easily, or peels at a later date, fitment not the same, thinner metal etc....I'd pay more for an OEM bumper that needs rechromed than I would for a new in the box china repop.
But it's all personal preference. Up to you. |

   and her is the minor pitting. I may try the Coke and aluminum foil trick to see if it takes them out.

If your truck is a nice driver I would MUCH rather have the GM bumper than a repo. If it is a show truck I would spend the $300-350 to have it re-chromed and it will look much better than any NOS.
