PM sent, forgot to ask, what does it take to switch a regular gauge cluster to a tach gauge cluster? Is it wires or is it more involved? are the extras like wires included? thanks!

The only extra wire you will need it the tach wire. If your truck has gauges dash, and not an idiot dash your won't have to swap any wires. If it is an Idiot dash, scroll down on this page till you find the wire swap for it. http://www.gmcpauls.com/Tech%2520Tips1.htm

Okay, i looked through that page and didn't find anything about tachs? am I missing something? also, what is a idiot dash?

Idiot dash is the one that has a speedo, the idiot gauge in the center, and fuel gauge (3 hole). No other gauges present. On that link you have to find the Swapping A Idiot Light Dash Out To Gauge Dash, that is if you are swapping from that style. If you have the gauge cluster, you don't have to worry about it.
You are correct for the tach harness, that is the right part to hook up to the tach. The tach doesn't run of the printed circuit.
