How to change a 86 silverado odometer?
I have a 1986 silverado with a broken odometer. i picked up a used one. Can anyone give me some tips on how to replace it without messing up the selector Drive/Neutral/revers column. Any advice would be great. Thanks. email kpoconnor1008@hotmail.com...Oh how how a repop dash cap? thanks

the ajustment for the pointer is a screw on the steering coloum
loosen and the needle will move,it has to be removed to get cluster out http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=421767 some pics may help,when i did my 78.....consider painting the inside ! worth it

Be sure the check out your state laws. Some states do not lawfully allow the replacement of odometers.
Other than that, just pulled the dash cluster and remove the metal clip on the back of the odometer. Then insert the replacement odometer, install the metal clip, and reinstall the cluster cover.
