spring interchangeability

Hey fellas i was wondering if i can put 3/4 ton springs in place of my 1/2ton springs on the front of my 85 long. just need it to work a little bit harder. my truck is paid for and and it's alot cheaper to mod a truck thats paid for than it is to go out and buy a 3/4 ton.

Re: spring interchangeability

you could add 1 or 2 leafs if 3/4 doesn fit its pretty much the same job as replacing them

Re: spring interchangeability

I did just that on the front of my 2wd i got cargo coils or heavy duty front springs for it and the part numbers for heavy duty springs are the same as those for a 3/4 ton IIRC in any event yes you can on a 2wd.. if you have a 4wd and have leafs you can have them re arced and add some leafs

Re: spring interchangeability

O'Reillys sells a HD spring for the front that will raise the front almost 2". I put them on my 1/2 ton and love it. I thought why lower the rear to make it sit level when I could raise the front and give me a higher stance and get mistaken for a 4x4 all the time.
