Ground on the motor
i was wondering how gm grounded the motor to the frame?
how the cab was grounded?

I just connected it all using thick copper wire: - chassis - cabin - engine - battery

I can't speak for the newer models, but my 68 had a web grounding strap on the passenger side cab floor support to the frame. It had a similar strap frame to engine block.

Mine is alternator bolt to frame

My 1980 had the un shielded braided wire strap from everything to the frame

Maybe I should have said braided ground strap. I have an 89 1500, a 68 C10, and an 83 K5 Blazer. They tend to run together in my head. The braided straps are on my 89 under the hood. The 68 has a braided strap under the cab to the frame.

Motor: strap from fuel pump to frame, intake/exhaust manifold to cab, alternator bracket to frame. All work good. Choke should have it's own to cab.

My civvy squares had a ground from the battery to the alternator bracket. Braided straps from the block to frame next to the RH motor mount. Braided strap from the cab to the RH cylinder head.
