Re: Paint and body work for the last 5 months
Mike-
Nice Truck. I've read through both of your builds, and they are both outstanding. I've got a question about your door jambs, I saw you painted the door jambs, it looked like before you primered the outside of the truck. Did you re-tape the jambs everytime before you sprayed the outside of the truck? I'm working up the nerve to tackle my own paint job, which will be a color change, so I'm trying to get the process laid out. sand outside, primer outside, then paint jambs, then body work and paint the outside?

Re: Paint and body work for the last 5 months
If your talking just paint (color) I used 3/4 of a gallon, but that was mixed 1 to 1 with reducer to make it spray-able which would make it 1.5 gallons. Had I not used black primer, I would have used more for coverage. All together I used 2 gallons of black epoxy primer, 1 gallon of gray polyester primer, 1.5 gallons of base coat and 2 gallons of clear. all of that was mixed 1 to 1 to make it spray-able. (except the Polyester) What sucks is most of that ended up on the floor!

Re: Paint and body work for the last 5 months
Im using Wizards polish. It works pretty good but It is a different animal compared to regular Buffing & compound. Its taken me a while to get the hang of it. but once I figured it out. WOW! it looks great. no swirls, nice deep rich black. with awesome reflection
