First time poster so it's probably a dumb question.
I have a 72 gmc?Chevy? I guess I just haven't really figured out how to read my vin#. Well the DMV info says Chevy? The grill and everything up front is from a GMC and for what it's worth the tailgate says Chevrolet. Here is my vin# if some one can help me out. Cce142j157698

Re: First time poster so it's probably a dumb question.
Or a cab swap. It's a frankentruck. A lot of truck parts have been swapped in the last 40 plus years. I'm in the process of looking for a decent cab -any cab chevy or GMC -to put on my 69 so it will probably change if I can't find another 69 chevy cab.
I looked at one couple of years ago that the guy said was an original 68 chevy. That's what the title said. It had a GMC style 69 or newer front end clip with 4 headlights, the steering wheel was also 69 or newer. When I brought it up to him, he told me I didn't know what I was talking about.

See? Not a dumb question after all. The only dumb question is one that doesn't get asked.

Nothing wrong with that. Very few trucks are all original after 40 plus years. No two alike - that's what makes them unique.
