Wow, that's in not too bad of shape. Looks like the windshield is fairly nice....I don't see any cracks.

Re: Found this the other day unexpectedly..
I asked about it, & he said "First $3000. gets it." I don't need it that bad. It has rust & dents. I'd say $2000. tops in my book. I guess that is just a gut feeling as I have no idea what the market is for these.

Re: Found this the other day unexpectedly..
IMO that's probably ALL it's worth, but then again like they say, they ain't making any more of 'em, either. Wouldn't surprise me to see it sell if he advertised it. If someone's on the hunt for one, they've probably looked at a lot worse, at least from that one picture. That sure looks like it hasn't been molested at all, and that's hard to find. Appears to have the goodies, too...maybe even the solid gold sliding window latches?

Re: Found this the other day unexpectedly..
IMO, it would have to be running and driving to be worth $3000. But then again as said above, in certain parts of the country, guys would likely be all over that for 3K.

Re: Found this the other day unexpectedly..
I agree, ASKING and GETTING are two VERY different things!
these days, between Barrett - Jackson and the insane Kelly blue book values, lots of guys ask crazy prices for stuff, and lots of other guys PAY crazy prices for stuff. As a good example, a few years back, I bought my suburban for $500, PO was asking $1000. Completely disassembled, lots of rust, too. $500 might have been high, but I wanted it bad (never good) fast forward to obtaining MA title.......gotta pay the "sales tax"......... State of Mass uses Kelly BB for collecting sales tax, regardless of paperwork price. Book says my truck is LOW VALUE like $6700, had to pay sales tax on that.......made me mad like hell! Printed off about 50 suburbans from CL around the country, to show them what 2500 or 3000 would buy, spent a day at the tax department arguing my case. End result? Paid sales tax on $6700. of course. Eventually, I just realized I was never going to win. Seems to me, even today, like a good class action suit, it happens every day here. Any lawyers in MA feel like taking on the State Tax Dep't? Nobody? Beuller? Beuller? Not likely! Still makes me mad. Getting a little off topic, but not really. Real value should be set by a willing buyer and a willing seller each settling on what they can live with. |
