c/20 and c/30 single and dual wheel differences
At least in the front brake area. Could I take the disc setup off of a 71 c20 and swap it onto a 69 c30 dually and simply put the dual rear wheel brake rotor/hub assembly onto the 71 spindle to keep dual wheel width? Are the calipers and spindles the same between the 2?

Looks like from this thread, txfirefighter said they are in fact the same. has anyone ever done the swap and confirmed this?

Havent done it, but yes you can, if you're referring to putting a 71+ extra deep DRW rotor/hub onto a 71+ 3/4 T disc brake spindle. I dont believe a drum spindle will accomodate a rotor/hub - no caliper mounts.

Re: c/20 and c/30 single and dual wheel differences
So you want to add front DRW disc brakes to a 69 C30? In the long run swapping in a '73 up later setup (control arms too???)will yield thicker rotors +.25" and parts you can actually buy at a parts store. There is a thread on this from like a month ago that should come up in a search. Try "ss tim" brakes . Think about a hydroboost too.

Re: c/20 and c/30 single and dual wheel differences
I can get the front end off a 71/72 for a relatively good price. I thought about the 73-87 swap since those are mainly the years I work with but the 71/72 is already sitting there for me at a good price. Hydroboost would def be on the to do list as well as other comfort things before long hauls.
Ill be using everything I need from the 71/72. I know that the drum spindles wont work. And I want to make sure I can fit the jb8 calipers up front. I dont know if id ever be able to notice the difference between them and the later bigger discs. Thanks for the feedback so far. Glad to know I can slip drw rotors over the single rear 71+'s.

Re: c/20 and c/30 single and dual wheel differences
