99 ls1 fuel line
heys guys, i need some help with something. i've got a 99ls1 that i'm putting in my 72 c1o. i'm going to run the stock tank/pump combo. where is the regulator?, and do I have to run a return line on this thing also? I did not understand if the regulator was on the fuel rail, and what is the gray part that the smaller line is hooked to? thanks

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
If its a LS1 from a Gen4 Camaro, I beleive the regulator will be in the sending unit.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
regulator is also the fuel filter, google "corvette filter regulator", you only have to run a return line from the filter/reg to the tank, not all the way to the rail.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
I know that the feed line out of the tank goes to a fuel filter. Quick connect on one side, threaded on the output to the rail. It's just single in single out.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
I had to re-read your first post a couple times.
You have a returnless fuel system, so the rail only has one input. 'flip was right, Your fuel regulator will be a little metal piece attached to the inside of the fuel pump cup. Its removeable, should you decide that you want to run an aftermarket FPR, OR you can use the 'Vette style regulator I posted.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
good deal, does anyone know what I can strip off this engine? lines, hoses, etc? also why did this setup have two hoses? one has a nipple of some sort, like a port for a fuel pressure gauge. Ineed to order my SS fuel line and fittings, just trying to figure out what system I have. Thanks

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
I'm not sure what you are asking. As I said before, you have the RETURN-LESS fuel system, you pretty much have the stock fuel system out of a 99 camaro. I might suggest spending some time on ls1tech, it will help you familiarize yourself with these engines.
I assume the second "hose" your refer to is for the EVAP.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
ok br3w city, thanks for the info. !'ve seen so many different scenarios. the fuel pump has three nipples on it. just confused, is the evap you speak of go into one of these nipples? I saw where accatack ran the same pump and tank but ran a corvette FPR filter setup as well. Wouldn't that be two regulators? please bear with me, just trying to use all my resources that I have (an entire 99 z28). thanks

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
he did not run it ALSO, he ran it INSTEAD. You can pull that little FPR out of the fuel pump bucket and use the 'vette setup if you want.
The middle nipple is the vent/evap. You can just lose the evap stuff on the engine if you want and vent that middle nipple, since you won't run a evap cannistor or anything. You'll most likely have the evap and emissions stuff tuned out anyway, so its not of any real use to you, and won't set codes if turned off.

Re: 99 ls1 fuel line
Well I no longer think that motor is from a 99 f-body.
That looks like the RETURN style rail on the 97 and 98 corvette....they didn't do many of those. If thats actually the case, than you need to run the 'vette style filter regulator that I mentioned earlier.
