Re: 383 stroker help

If your on a budget vortec heads will be the best thing to put on. Get the vortec intake and call comp cams with engine specs and your use and they will match you with a cam to get you there. Don't go more than half inch lift since after about 480 lift the vortecs start tumbling the air. This would make a roller cam more relevant for your build

Re: 383 stroker help

If you use a later model block, loo for the bosses in the lifter valley, they will be HYD roller cam compatible,1 pc rear seal. You can get a SCAT or EAGLE crank for it and build a nice 383. Used Vortec heads? Im not feelin it. a lot of them crack, then they need work to accommodate larger lift cams. Check out Summit Racing's Vortec heads, your power levels are very easily achievable.....1 more thing, YOU DONT NEED A 4blt block either.
