Re: 02 camaro tank
Thanks for the link. I mounted my tank today, removed rear most cross member, cut 1 1/2" off bottom frame rail ( both sides),put a piece of 3/8 hose on frame rails to keep tank from rubbing ,made tank brackets from 1"x 1/8" aluminum and put camper shell foam tape on it for padding. Worked out well I think, you just have to be sure and keep top of tank below frame rails for bed clearance.

I'll try and get a pic tomorrow but I'm sure it will be visible from the back.

Re: 02 camaro tank
I've got to put the bed back on to see, but probably stake pocket or just make a housing inside the bedside.I have seen some guys are using rear marker light made into a fuel door.

Re: 02 camaro tank
hello 69sinker. ive always liked the idea of making things from a practical standpoint rather than throwing dollars at these projects. any way im down for using the camaro tank, but im more interested in how youll get all the guages to work with that cluster. spill the beans please. will i need to pull the brain box with that cluster? show me the way. clark.

Re: 02 camaro tank
The cluster gets most of It's info from the serial data wire, I'll look through my notes and.copy it to you.

Re: 02 camaro tank
carb'd - then you'll need sensors for your gauges.

Re: 02 camaro tank
Oil pressure is only gauge that feeds from a sending unit, basically every other gauge comes serial data wire (pcm)

Re: 02 camaro tank
the same as you would for something like a sbc or bbc. One sender for each gauge, or direct line with mechanical gauges. If you're going carb'd...you have no pcm to get the info from.
