WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
Would like a super nice pair of red cheyenne door panels...nice wood trim a bonus. I have heard reproductions are not made well. I have never had much success changing colors....always seems to scratch or chip, and previous color becomes exposed. I am also looking for fasteners that hold the carpet to the rear of the cab for bucket seats. Nice red seat belt buckles as well. Thank you, Greg.

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
There is a little problem here. The red trim was not offered on the pickup line in 71 or 72. The door panels are a 72 only item and red were only in the medium duty trucks. Really like the look of your truck, what color is the stock interior?

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
All black interior....with super nice door panels and wood trim......It is an original cheyenne truck, but I bought buckets/console, and plan on keeping all the original door panels vs dying tbem. The wood on the glovebox and door panels are really nice. Ive seen a couple 71 panels on the forum....and have also heard that I may only be able to buy on from a bigger trucks. Just always looooved black vehicle with red guts. Thanks.....happy new year, Greg

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
Hey Greg, The red panels you saw,if original, would have been '70s since they were the same as '71s. You know, many OEM '72 panels were black with color sprayed onto them. I've seen them both ways. ll the colors are listed on the back of the panel (I guess since they all came from the same molds)

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
Tim is correct in that red was not a color offered originally. It does however look GREAT with black, and should have been available IMO. You will have to dye a set of door panels and console, and although you have said that you have not had any luck in doing so, it is very possible to achieve this by proper preparation and quality paint (SEM).

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
Agree the red interior can look very nice, its just not me. Redline has a black Cheyenne Super changed to a red interior. Here are a couple of pictures to enjoy. They should have left the sheetmetal and probably the entire column/wheel black though.

Re: WTB '72 Red Cheyenne door panels
The truck is not correct in many ways beyond the red trim. The kick panel carpet is not factory. Enjoy the link to the truck with lots of pictures. It was a parchment interior as delivered.
