what dimension dash speaker are you running? I MUST KNOW!
Alright since the stock dash speaker on the 60-66 Chevy's were square, what is a good speaker dimension to put underneath the dash? I'm ordering from retro sound and they have "universal" mounts. but I also plan on using a Dual voice coil speaker for more output.
what dimension speakers are you guys running 6x9? 5x7? 4x10? 6.5 inch circular speaker? |

Re: what dimension dash speaker are you running? I MUST KNOW!
I'm using one from LMC that is two speakers in one square mount, and includes 2 brackets to fit in the stock mounting location. You can find the same on from any vendor, and on ebay, etc. I used one in place of the one in my '71 pontiac (single center speaker to dual center speaker) and it sounds pretty damn good, no reason not to do the same in my truck. Haven't hooked it up yet, had it out of the box, build quality looks nice.

I'm more partial to the retrosound units, I'll give them a call tomorrow about what they think would work, they have ultra thin speakers that are dual voice coil and the output of those are AWESOME! |

pretty much something like that. Not sure of wattage. Saves mounting headaches too. |

I made a crappy little bracket out of scrap aluminum, and mounted what I believe was a 5x7 on it, it's not stereo but sounds decent.

I used two 3 1/2" pyle tweeters installed using a stock speaker as a mounting bracket. Sounds good works good.

3.5" or 4" speakers are underrated. They get a lot louder than you think. I used a pair in my 68 and they sound great.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ppa-42.9I.html There should be enough room under your dash for a small bracket setup

I have an old OEM speaker if you want it (it doesn't work at all, destroyed) but if you wanted to mount two speakers in it like those above, you could use it for that.
