Chrome Bumpers and Non Chrome Bumpers
I have seen the Chrome Bumpers and the Non Chrome Bumpers
What is the Factory reason for this ? I never understood why the Bumpers looked this way Just extra Options from the Factory or a Personal Add to the Truck

Re: Chrome Bumpers and Non Chrome Bumpers
Painted was standard. Chrome was an option.

Re: Chrome Bumpers and Non Chrome Bumpers
Chrome front was also part of the higher trim level packages (CST, Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super).

Not sure of what you mean by a handbook, but maybe this will help.

Re: Chrome Bumpers and Non Chrome Bumpers
An old Chrome plater friend of mine once told me that the factory painted bumpers were generally the ones with surface flaws (streaks, etc) and they used the better ones for plating. I blasted a bumper back then (1973) and I could see what he was talking about. Don't know if that was always the case, but it proved out to me.

Re: Chrome Bumpers and Non Chrome Bumpers
While I prefer chrome in most cases there is something about a painted bumper on an old farm truck that I really like. I guess it really depends on what look you are going for.
