Ashtray mounted cup holder
Anybody know who sells this? I saw it in a few pics but haven't seen a source for it. I might be looking in all the wrong places.

Re: Ashtray mounted cup holder
I know "Old Air Products" used to make a nice one that went in place of the ashtray and would slide out.
Brothers has the one that hangs on the ashtray too, simple and cheap.

Re: Ashtray mounted cup holder
Lattimer's review will be based off its ability to hold a large protein shaker cup. Right, Lattimer? Lol
Impressive powerlifting video btw. I need to get back to lifting. I had a sweet home gym in my basement that I lost in the divorce a few years back. It just ain't the same going to public gyms. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Ashtray mounted cup holder
I had one...key word is had...I didn't like it because it really blocked my radio when it was installed. I gave it to a friends son for his truck.
There are such limited choices for cupholders in these old trucks. I have the Old Air retractable ones in two of my trucks but they quit making them a while back. I made this one for 10 bucks....your cost may vary.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=542739

It currently is sitting in a box somewhere... The problem with it, was that it was too springy and caused a mess with splashing liquid from the cups.

Re: Ashtray mounted cup holder
Mine was from LMC, though it looks the same as the one at Brothers. I wouldn't recommend it. It didn't fit out of the box, I had to take that rear plate off to slide it in. I don't have a radio, but a travel mug in the cup holder would block it. The cup holder itself does an exceptional job at blocking the heater controls, however. It fits cans great, but even my shorter travel mug is a little too tall to take it in and out, it hits the dash pad, and you have to pull the holder out a bit.
I mean, it's better than nothing, and having to steer with your coffee in your hand while shifting. But these things aren't cheap, and I'm thinking my money would have been better spent finding some kinda center console that sits on the seat and has a couple cup holders in it. Or even building one out of MDF or something and covering it with vinyl to make it look like it belongs. Hey, thats not a bad idea!

I've got a few of those but haven't used them. Worry about em scratching the paint. Thought about glueing some felt to em.
