Well, I gotta change out my muffler, what do you guys think, should I buy a flowmaster dual output muffler for about 100 bucks after tax? I don't need to install the pipes, just change out the muffler itself, then install the pipes later when I can afford it. Or should I go get a regular muffler with piping and install it for about 50 bucks?

I've heard a lot of good things about the Flowmaster exhaust systems. I'm not sure of the warranty off hand, but I believe it's supposed to be good. I will be installing a Flowmaster dual exhaust system in my '86 in the near future.

You could get a Flowmaster but if you're going to change the exhaust later when you have the many, I wouldn't spend the money on one. I'd get a generic Super Turbo from your local muffler shop and then when you do get the money, get the setup you want.

You said you were going to do the pipes later? What are you going to have now coming out of the muffler? Turndowns?

Just open air, the government doesn't require pipes coming out of the end of the muffler. But I think I will just get a standard muffler with nice piping

i think ya made the right decision id not spend money ont he exhause unelss i was doing the whole thing up once and correctly. also watch out buying aftermarket stuff; one of the other members had a run in with the law and the noise factor and wound up with a ticket. i dont know how that wound up yet but even if ya win the ticket it still costs ya$$$
