62 cab on a 66 frame?

I have a 1962 c10 cab and I am wanting to mount it to a 1966 c10 frame that i bought. My question is... if I remove the front cab mounts off the 66 frame and install 62 cab mounts on the frame will the 1962 cab bolt right up??

Re: 62 cab on a 66 frame?

Yes it will, I did a simaler swap, I just cut the cab mounts off one frame and used 7018 rods and welded them to the frame I used. I would also take the core support mounts off your 62 frame because they sit higher or at least they did on mine, or make a spacer. good luck!

This......

No need for any cutting or welding, unless you want to move the recessed cups for the body mount bolts to the new location.

Re: 62 cab on a 66 frame?

Thanks for your reply blazins10.. If I drilled holes and used the 66 mounts would that be enough support for the cab.? or would I need to move anything else.

Re: 62 cab on a 66 frame?

the cab supports under the cab are very close or the same between the years except
the hole placement is like 4 inches towards the inside of the cab on the 63-66 cabs , i did a 62 cab on a 63 frame without an issue
