drop pictures?

getting ready to buy a drop kit for my 85 rcsb but not sure what i want. ive dropped 88 to 98 trucks and 99 an up but not a sqaure body. my 96 obs i did a 4/6 and was right were i wanted it. my 99 nbs is also a 4/6 but can someone post me some pictures of different drops on the sqaure body short beds? i see you can get a flip for 5 inch and 6 inch drop. i want to replace the front springs and there 2 inch drop springs but with a 2 inch drop spindle i dont want the back lower then the front. i want it level or just maybe a little rake.

the tire im running is a 275/60/15 and i dont mine trimming the lip on the fenders cuz ive had to do that to all my trucks..

My black pickup at 6/8 drop

I've got one somewhere where she was at 3/5. I'll find it and post.

Re: drop pictures?

Here's mine. It's actually a longbed but it might be useful for reference. 3" djm drop spindles up front with 1 coil cut for about 5 inchs in the front and a flip kit in the rear. Tire specs are 245/60r15 in front and 275/60r15 in the rear.

Re: drop pictures?

3/5 drop was a 3" drop spindle (don't think they're available anymore) and 2.5" drop shackles and hangars.

6/8 drop was 3" spindle + 3" drop coil and axle flip with 2.5" drop shackle.

Still very much available. I ordered DJM 3 inch spindles last week. Belltech still makes them too.

where do the 275/60 rub? if its the fender lip thats fine i can trim them like ive done before..

ive ran 295/50/15 on my obs truck all the way around on a 5/7 drop just had to trim the lip so they wouldnt rub..

the 96 was my last truck i built and sold kind wish i didnt i did the full LS swap. it had a 4.3 with a 5speed but changed it over to a 4L60E

here is a walk around video..

Re: drop pictures?

Very nice Low87... where did you get the mirrors that are in the 3rd picture? They sort of look like 2nd gen camaro mirrors.

Re: drop pictures?

truck is dropped 9" in the back has flip kit, hangers and shackles. front is 2.5 spindles and springs cut to level it. tires are 235/70/15. I havent driven it yet other than into the trailer, and into the shop. but it has less than 4" of clearance frame to ground
