All Terrain Tires
In The Market for new tires tore between the General Grabber AT2 or the BF Goodrich All Terrain. 265-75-16 load range E. Currently have the goodyear wrangler duratrac. Havnt heard much of the AT2s. I father has the BFG All Terrains on his truck and loves them. What you think? Thanks.

Re: All Terrain Tires
My vote would go to the BFG. I've run of few sets of those over the years and always loved them.

Re: All Terrain Tires
I put Cooper Discoverer ATP's on my '96. LOVE EM! Less expensive than BFG's, quiet on the street, good on snow and icy roads.

Re: All Terrain Tires
On my second set of BFG all terrains. very good all purpose tire.. mine are also E rated. they wear fairly quickly but the amount of times they have saved me have been worth it.. they cake up fast in the mud but i have still been through some very nasty gumbo you just have to keep the rpm up.. they are a bit slippery in the rain but perform very well in the snow [we get a fair amount of that here] good summer tire as well.. low highway hum around 120kph considering the tread. These tires also perform well in sand if that matters to you. Rotation is important with these so beware.

Re: All Terrain Tires
I have always been a huge fan of Toyo Open Country A/Ts, now replaced by the A/T-II.

Re: All Terrain Tires
I have a set of the General Grabber AT2s on my 83 K1500 6.2L. I have honestly only driven the truck a few times since installing them, but I was very happy with them. They are essentially silent on the pavement, no sound change when going over different textures of pavement, like patches. I made a trip this winter with the truck in blizzard conditions and the tires are amazing in ice/snow conditions. On the last part of my trip I was plowing through snows deep enough to have it blowing up onto the windshield off the the front wheels. The truck felt totally planted. I can't comment on the wear yet, as they are almost new, but the ride and handling, on a truck is excellent.

Re: All Terrain Tires
Can't go wrong with the BFGs, I don't know anyone who has anything bad to say about them. I had some Grabber AT a long time ago, the were fine then, not sure about the AT2.

Re: All Terrain Tires
had those exact tires on my stepper (BF A/T 265/75-16) for 9 years. gave them to buddy when i got my pro-comp xt's & he ran them for a couple more years. i found them hard wearing & good in everything except heavy mud. pro-comps wore completely out in 4 yrs. another buddy bought BFG M/T's in 2001 then blew the tranny. after sitting for 10 yrs, i'm now running them on my stepper, pretty much new but 12 yrs old. i like that their the old school look BF's

Re: All Terrain Tires
Can't go wrong with either. General's are cheaper, but I prefer the BFG brand in general.

Re: All Terrain Tires
I put Yokahamas on mine about a year and a half ago. Went in for BFGs, they didn't have my size in stock, offered me a helluva deal on the Yokas. I've been real happy so far. Incredible wear (as in hardly). It's my DD, so they've seen plenty of pavement miles.

Re: All Terrain Tires
Just put a set of cooper a/t3's on our company plow truck this year and was really impressed with them in the 3 and half foot storm we got last month. Another good option for you.
