Re: E brake help
Have you got any of the original E brake hardware still on the truck or are you starting from scratch?
I put a kick panel/firewall mounted pedal E brake setup in my 48 out of some donor rig I had and fixed tabs to the frame to hold the Cable housings from the rear end and had a new cable made up to go between the two cables and attach to the cable from the foot pedal much the same as it would be under the rig the rear end came out of. It works pretty well. A local shop swagged the sleeve on the cable to shorten it for me.

Re: E brake help
I found that 74ish truck foot e brakes have the same mounting hole spacing as the 58-59 hood hinge bolts. I mounted it and used the 74 cable to the relocated cable pulley wheel, stock 59 back to the 74 cables into the rear end. I got creative with cable loops and swag fitting to tie cables together. Release handle mounts under the dash.

Re: E brake help
Mine has a 92 chassis with a 10 bolt, I used this under dash unit from Locar http://lokar.com/product-pgs/emergen...op-ebrake.html
A Universal unit and relitively easy to install............Sorry no pics but, it is an excellent fit, very clean and stealthy. Cheers, Judd Last edited by judd55; 03-14-2013 at 09:48 PM. |

Re: E brake help
I have had good luck with using the stock hardware all the way back to the cable housing and using cables from Control Cables Inc, they will fit "anything"

Re: E brake help
not sure about the gen 2 rears but the gen 3 in my truk uses cables encased in a housing like bike brake cables.
you can mount those any way you can, i suspect gen 2 is similar. buy the gen 2 rear cables and an s10 front cable and fabricate a connector and cable holder i bought new cables from napa 10 yrs ago, still haven't installed them
