Wiper Blades, motors, etc.

Thinking ahead here. If I'm going to use this truck as a near daily driver, it's going to need something dependable for wipers.

I've seen info on Newport motors and adapting Blazer rear window wiper motors. I'm ok with going either way.

My question is the actual arms and blades themselves. What works and what doesn't? I've seen suggestions to use 54-55 arms. Would something even newer work better? I'm not as concerned about originality as functionality. Is there a problem with the shaft size for using later model arms?

I am going to use the stock arms and as much of the stock linkage as possable and adapt a electric motor. The problem with the stock setup is the vacuum motor. the linkage is good. I like the fact that the mirinco motors have an adjustable swing.I am also thinking there may be a way to adapt a intermit relay "box" to one.

The 55+ wiper arms are 1" longer than the 47-54 arms. I chopped the top on my 55 3" and used the early arms with the standard blade and it clears the windshield top by about 1/2". There are aftermarket adjustable arms that might help you get an arm and blade length that will maximize your windhsield coverage. I wanted polished stainless so that option wasn't one I used.

Wow, that is a great price with awesome features, I think this is worth looking into. Rain-x works great for rain but I find some mornings I need FogX!
