new rims...what size tire??
Just bought new rims for my 67 c20....I am planning ahead a little bit....I bout 16x10 rims because in the future I am going to give it a pre runner look and I think that size will look best. Although I am not there yet and I need these rims on my truck now but dont know what size tire to use...I have been thinking about using 285/75r16 but will those be to big?....Post your comments and some pics please

Re: new rims...what size tire??
Tire Rack advises rim width from 7.5" to 9" for that size tire. You say a prerunner look... will the truck be lifted all around? How high? Do you know how tall your tires can be?

Re: new rims...what size tire??
yes it will be lifted all the way around, I have been thinking I am going to do a 4 inch suspension lift, but that is a couple years down the road and I just need some used tires to use for now....I dont know how tall my tires can be, I do know I have a 127inch wheel base

Re: new rims...what size tire??
305/70-16 is 33" tall and calls for rims 8" to 9.5" wide, which is close enough to your 10" rims that it shouldn't make any difference. But with a 4" lift, you could go a with a taller tire. How about 315/75-16.... 8" to 10" rims and 34.6" tire height? Oughtta look plenty beefy.

Re: new rims...what size tire??
Yes, 33s are too tall with stock suspension, especially on 10" rims. OK on the rear, but fronts will rub on the fenders when you turn.

Re: new rims...what size tire??
that is why I was thinking just the 285/75r16 and get some used ones for now until I put my lift on the truck..... where do I look to find what your finding or are you just doing this off the top of your head?

Re: new rims...what size tire??
the exterior of the truck has seen the most of my attention but as soon as I get these tires I am starting on the inside so yes the outside is clean and straight but the interior needs work and thank you....
