08 Tahoe brakes
I drove my 08 Tahoe to my parents house this weekend and just had to replace the rear disc brakes on the thing. 65,000 miles and the driver side outside pad was down to ribets. The inside pad was OK but it to is warnout. Think I got lucky and didn't mess the rotor up, I caught just in time.
The first 2 pictures are the drivers side pads. The last picture is passenger side. What do you think caused it... Sticking pads? What. The passenger sides look OK but I went a head and replaced them.

Re: 08 Tahoe brakes
Not familiar with those particular brakes, but I'd guess the caliper may not be floating (centering itself) to equalize pressure on the inner & outer pads. Try cleaning and lightly lubing any mounting hardware surfaces that might prevent caliper movement.

Re: 08 Tahoe brakes
Yea I lubed everything good and what I could check and see it was OK. Everything moved freely, I guess I will see in a couple of months and take it back a part and see how they look.

Re: 08 Tahoe brakes
It's not uncomon for gm rear disks to do this. If you run 20000 miles of gravel roads you will be replaceing the rotors as well.
I would say you did very well to get 65,000 miles out of them.

Re: 08 Tahoe brakes
The passenger sides looked OK. They had another couple of 1000 miles on them guessing! I will change the fronts next week.
