It''s about TIME!
Well its about dang time i start a thread about my truck! I've had my 78 C20 sense December last year, its only been running for about a month! When I got her she was an old farm truck that was in need of a good bit of TLC! I first drove her until it was time to start some needed up grads. first I started with a MSD 6AL system and a new intake and carb.

Re: It''s about TIME!
Then about 5 min after that was put back together it started pouring out big clouds of white smoke, and any one who has worked with any engine knows white smoke means a bad day for u! So i pulled the heads and one was cracked so i replaced the head and then put it back together a 2nd time! Then it wouldn't start I swear buy this time the truck was against me! so pulled it all back apart and checked the timing! Low and behold found my problem, my timing chain had skipped a few teeth and was slack on one side. So When we pulled the cam we found that it was BENT INTO THE MOTOR! Nothing short of a cutting touch could get it out! so deciding that it was "about time" i pulled the motor and started from scratch! So I am now in the process of cleaning and repainting the engine bay with black. I have a .30 over 350 with 202 valve heads and a new th400 with a manual 1st gear going in soon i hope. Hear are some picks of my baby then and now

Re: It''s about TIME!
Wahoooooo got it fixed! I'm not able to get pics on yet but I will update with words as I can. So had a bad ignition wire and replaced it now I'm good! Started to get the wires cut and hooked up to the new shifter (NSS and ect) and now working on making a new battery tray. I've got a lot of work ahead of me still and I'll keep this updated.

Re: It''s about TIME!
Man, I so envy you! I can't wait to pull out on the road with plates and all on mine. I could have before I striped it, but where is the fun in that?
Besides,,,,, I am a firm believer in "The wind should only come into the truck from the A/C, or the windows, and not the floor boards, or firewall. lol It's looking good man!

Re: It''s about TIME!
Ok I've done a lot of work so far. so to start she is running well and seems to be liking the drive time. I've been doing a little body work like filling in holes and such. i scraped off all of the rust on my tail gait and repainted it, i was bored. but we had our first big rain up hear and there was water coming in buy my feet. i found the problem there was a big whole up on the driver side top of the windshield. so i welded it in and she seems to hold water.
