Rear drum rebuild
Alright guys so the rear diff I got for my truck had all of its brake parts stripped, so this will be the first drum brake rebuild ive done. Now I'm about to buy all parts drums, shoes, hardware kit, adjuster repair kit, and wheel cylinders. Do I have everything covered or did I miss something?
Any help would be great! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Rear drum rebuild
Other than patience I think you are covered...
No I joke I ended up redoing mine and I would suggest you get one of the brake tools if you don't have one. I ended up using vise grips and screw drivers it is a pain that way it seems. I usually leave one side together so I can reference it as I do the reassembly. Good luck Dave

Re: Rear drum rebuild
If they were completely apart, you may be missing a couple of parts that are not part of the typical replacement. That is the e-brake levers, they are not really "replacement" parts, they get removed from the rear shoes and attached to the new ones. I have seen the spreader-bar included in some hardware kits, but never the actual levers.

Re: Rear drum rebuild
It won't hurt to have one of these. 8 bucks at your local parts shop.
