70' Green light gambler Build
Hey yall'
Well finally got me a lil income comin in from the shop so now ive decided to build a quarter mile truck outta this no title 70' c10 I picked up not to long ago I know ive already torn this truck down for those that keep track on me but my 71' phantom dually is getting new sheet metal. so ill be using this Entire truck. im chunking the old chassis and dropping it on a 98 Silverado frame. Engine wise im takin it back to the old school 454 big block with a caterpillar Super charger. This will be a slower build due to being Constantly Busy with other peoples projects and my 71' so here it goes more info to come! Heres a few pics of the truck when I first got it for 175$ this truck has 24,xxx original miles everything is Exeptionally clean underneath and inside besides the rust situation. and heres my 10$ donor burb ...yes I literally paid 10$ for it don't have pics of the 454 and the blower yet there in my c90 |

Re: 70' Green light gambler Build
Can I ask what you hope to gain by switching the '70 body onto the '98 Suburban frame? IMO that is going to be a lot of work for what I see as no real gain except for the front disc brakes. Those '88 and up frames are way different than the '87 and earlier frames. If it is the front disc brakes you're after, that is very easily a bolt on deal with '71-'87 C10 parts.
I'm not trying to be an a$$, just trying to help you from a lot of extra work.

And not as strong. Not until you get into the hydro-formed frame rails of the 2000's.
But thats what this hobby is all about,, everyone has their own visions and ideas that makes each build unique. No matter how you do it, KUDOS for keeping another from a rusty, unwanted demise.
