Help with dropping 59 Apache - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys, my dad just got a 59 Apache last week and I have been in overdrive trying to learning alot about the suspension and mods one can do to these trucks. ( Im more of a 67-72 , have a 68 SWB my self ).

Now as far as lowering and not cutting up the chassis or doing a C notch

I have read about a mono leaf spring ? Does anybody have a link as to who sells those ? and how much it lowers the truck?

The other thing i have read is about getting some dropped axles ? from http://www.droppedaxles.com/CHEVY_AXLES.html

Approximately how much would mono leaf springs and some 3'' or more drop axles drop a stock 59 Apache ?

a 3" drop axle will drop the front 3" and 3" monos up front will drop another 3" you can get 3" monos for rear and should have plenty of clearance. They make a 6" mono for the rear which I have but you may need to c-notch the frame. It might work with out the notch but I just put one in anyway.
