Just bought a 1973 Blazer
I have wanted a 73-75 Blazer for about 22 years. Finally found one. I am in Texas and I bought it out of Oregon. Just got it off the transport today. Runs good and looks pretty good.
Not sure where to start with this thing. I want to take the running boards off. I would really like to move the driver's seat back more. I am 6'7" and could use all the room I can get. Anyone done this before. I did not find anything with an initial search, but will keep trying. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Just bought a 1973 Blazer
Great find. There was a guy in the 67-72 Suburban forum wanted looking to get more leg room like you. He was wondering about other brackets. I think the best we came up with was make a plate to bolt to the top of the brackets with offset seat mounting holes. I think maybe going between the floor and bracket may be better, now that I think about it,cuz it the seat will still be directly over the brackets...more solid mounting.

Re: Just bought a 1973 Blazer
Thanks. I was thinking about doing an offset plate as well. I was going to do it between the seat and the seat frame, but you make a good point about doing it between the seat frame and the floor. I do want to tilt the seat back a little. The seats appear to be factory. They are high back buckets.

Re: Just bought a 1973 Blazer
The previous owner said he painted it in 2008. Minimal rust from what I have seen. I need to crawl all around it. I bought it from just pictures but I paid less than $4K for it. I have not seen many go in that price range that were not already pretty rusted.
It is really clean inside as well. I was really surprised to find that the interior light work when I got in it last night. Posted via Mobile Device |

Sure I only have a couple of interior pics right now. These are from the ad. I can take more tomorrow. Just let me know what you want more of.

Re: Just bought a 1973 Blazer
Anybody know if the side panels in the pic of the rear seat are oem? I assume they are not. If not then I won't feel so bad cutting them for speakers.

Re: Just bought a 1973 Blazer
You can't see it in this picture but towards there is a spare tire mounted behind the rear seat. It runs side to side and up against the back seat. Not the normal up against the side of the back wall kind. Looks like it still has the original tire iron.
