metal box in console????
Hey guys I seen a thread somewheres were a guys buddy built a metal lock box that fit perfectly in his stock blazer console but I can't find the thread anyone recall it or done anything similar? Thanx

well i searched and searched but no luck. so i guess i'm gonna build it off memory and i'll post some pix for anyone who wants to try it. i have a idea how he did it but pix always help.

I don't think I ever posted it, but a buddy made a console for my CUCV out of a .50 cal ammo can. Naturally, it'll take a padlock. We didn't invent it, just borrowed the idea from steelsoldiers.com. It's wide enough for a few flush-mount drink holders out of a boat parts catalog. I haven't made the armrest yet or the mounts but will post a pic if you are interested.

no this one was built to rest inside the stock console you would have to take the lid off the stock console to install it. then it had a key lock on it. so it was a lock box inside your console. same caonsole style just fit snug inside the stock console

This is why searching is so important. I have the newer 90's Blazer console in my 72 and I really don't like it but it locks. I need a lock for items like my pistol. (locking the doors on a soft top Blazer is pointless) I may have to get a factory console and build one of these.
