Pops V3500 Crewcab

Just making a photo album. I've owned this truck for 6 years and she's definitely earned her keep. This was a Sincrude refinery site truck and ended up being a GM buyback having never been registered. It was then purchased from the dealer by the guy I bought it from.

I think this is the only picture I took without the 35's on it.

Pops, I love your truck! Do you have any side shots of the truck with no lift and the 35's on it? Were they 35's or metric sized? Wheel sizing? Thanks!!

Sorry, that's all the pre lift pics I have. The first set of tires I had with the black steel rims were 315/75/16's, the tires I have now on the 17" Hummer H2 rims are 35x12.5 Pro Comps AT's

I dont see this beast around as much as I used to.

Who did you deal with here in town for your BDS or did you just order online? Happy with it?

Yeah, I try to only drive it when I need a truck. She's thirsty.

As far as the lift goes, I ordered it six years ago through Rapid Revolutions in the west end. Ordered a lift for a 1990 1 ton and got an IFS kit, so ordered a kit for an 87 instead and got the right stuff. I ordered 3/4 ton leafs for the back with the idea that it might ride slightly better than 1 ton leafs.
I haven't had any issues with the lift. I've replaced the front shocks and steering stabilizer, but it gets used, so just wear and tear.

Mine got parked because I couldnt handle the 3.5 mpg any more

It wont see the light of day this year, and I wont be putting a motor in it like i wanted so i am thinking of tossing the TBI junk and putting a carb on it.

I miss driving it and hate letting it sit

I am familiar with the boys at rapid, I shall keep that in mind. Thank you

You ever decide to sell this I want to know, id like me a year round 4x4...

I get about 10 mpg out of mine. I'm toying with the idea of replacing the truck with a 12v Cummins truck. It's a little under powered while pulling a car trailer with a car on it and the fuel mileage leaves something to be desired. I'll let you know if I decide to sell it.

Why don't you just swap a 6bt into your truck. Its a pretty simple swap and you will get to keep it with decent fuel mileage.

Re: Pops V3500 Crewcab

I keep a close eye on the 12V and 24V market around here. Seems like most of those guys have gotten the rocks shaken out of there head as the prices have come down

I miss mine quite a bit, but terrible riding truck and i enjoy having my kidneys, liver and spine in one piece

Yeah, I've noticed 90's diesel Dodge prices come way down over the last few years.

Lmao I know, I know. I borrowed a small 110 compressor to paint the truck and then gave the compressor back. Now I have a nice big 60 gal 220 compressor, but I haven't wired my garage for it yet..

It's just a 350. I painted it when my body panels started to be miss matched. Guess it isn't much better now.. It looked a lot nicer 6 years ago when I bought it for $6000. She's been around the block a few times since then and definitely earned her keep!
